Reducing our Carbon Footprint

We believe in reducing our carbon footprint. You can help too!

Our sustainability commitment

We will reward customers who bring their reusable cups by offering 10% off.

We will offer our coffee grounds for customers for free to use as fertilizer.

We will offer more vegan and vegetarian options for both food and drink based products.

We aim to purchase and use recycled goods wherever possible.

We will recycle all paper and cardboard packaging, including reducing till receipts.

We will seek to purchase fair trade and environmentally sustainable and accredited goods.

Re-useable cups

We use Decent Packaging which is a Toitū carbonzeroCertTM certified organisation. In short a Carbon Zero Organsiation

It's not plastic! All of our straws and takeaway cups are made from PLA. We use Low carbon PLA biopolymers made from renewable sources. PLA breaks down into organic molecules.

We also offer a 10% off drinks incentive if you bring your own reuseable cups.

We sell reuseable pint cups. The design created by @g_wizz_wheeler depicting St Leonards events. We offer 5% for every pint poured into our cups!

Coffee Sustainability

Perky Blenders coffee beans are sourced sustainably, from trusted suppliers.

Perky Blenders endeavour to seek out suppliers who champion smallholders and independent farmers, and make sure that all of the bigger farms and plantations they work with provide their staff with a decent wage and a good quality of living.

Reused coffee grounds:

You would be surprised what you can do with used ground coffee. We have bags for you to take away for free. But what can you do with them?

1. Fertilizer

Most soil does not contain the essential nutrients needed for optimal plant growth.

Also, as plants grow, they absorb nutrients from the soil, ultimately leaving it depleted.

2. Repel insects & pests

Certain compounds found in coffee, such caffeine and diterpenes, can be highly toxic to insects.

Because of this, you can use coffee grounds to repel bugs.

3. Neutralize Odours

Coffee grounds contain nitrogen, which helps eliminate a foul-smelling sulfur gas from the air when it’s combined with carbon.

In other words, coffee grounds can help absorb and eliminate odors.
